How are words counted?
Runs of non-whitespace characters. Hyphenated words count as one; em-dash separated words count as two.
Is the reading time accurate?
It assumes 200 words per minute, the usual average for adult readers. Technical text is slower.
Is there a text limit?
Only what your browser can hold — large documents are fine.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Counting happens in the browser.
