Remove Extra Spaces

Strip leading, trailing and extra whitespace from every line.

About Remove Extra Spaces

Remove Extra Spaces collapses repeated spaces into one, trims leading and trailing whitespace, and can drop blank lines — the usual fix for text pasted out of a PDF or a spreadsheet.

It is a text cleanup, not a formatter: indentation in code will be destroyed, so do not run it on source files.

How to use Remove Extra Spaces

  1. 1

    Paste the text

Pasted PDF text often contains non-breaking spaces, which are handled too.

  2. 2

    Choose what to collapse

Multiple spaces, line-leading spaces, or empty lines.

  3. 3

    Copy the cleaned text

Review the result — collapsing spaces can join words that were separated intentionally.
