Text Sorter
Sort lines alphabetically in ascending or descending order.
About Text Sorter
Text Sorter orders a list alphabetically, numerically, by length or in reverse. Numeric mode understands 2 before 10, which plain text sorting gets wrong.
It also deduplicates and trims, so a messy export becomes a usable list in one pass.
How to use Text Sorter
- 1
Paste the list
One entry per line.
- 2
Pick a sort mode
Alphabetical, numeric, length, or reverse. Choose case sensitivity if it matters.

The result replaces the input and can be downloaded.
Questions about Text Sorter
Why does 10 come before 2?
That is lexicographic sorting. Switch to numeric mode for natural ordering.
Are accented characters handled?
Yes, locale-aware collation places é next to e rather than after z.
Can I sort by the last word?
Not directly. Reverse each line, sort, then reverse back.
Is the sort stable?
Equal keys keep their original relative order.
