About SIP Calculator
SIP Calculator estimates the future value of a monthly systematic investment using the annuity formula, given a expected annual return and a duration.
It assumes the return is compounded monthly and credited at the end of each month — the standard convention for mutual fund illustrations.
How to use SIP Calculator
- 1
Enter the monthly amount
The fixed sum invested every month.
- 2
Set return and years
Use a conservative expected return; 10–12% is a common long-term equity assumption, not a guarantee.
- 3
Read the split
Invested capital and estimated gains are shown separately.
Questions about SIP Calculator
What formula is used?
FV = P × ((1+i)^n − 1) / i × (1+i), where i is the monthly rate and n the number of instalments.
Does it model step-up SIP?
No. For an annual increase, calculate each year's block separately and add the results.
Is the return guaranteed?
No. Market returns vary; the number is a projection, not a promise.
What about inflation?
Subtract expected inflation from the return to see purchasing power, or discount the final value.
