About Discount Calculator
Discount Calculator works out the final price after a percentage discount, the amount saved, and the original price when you only know the sale price.
It also handles stacked discounts correctly: 20% then 10% is not 30% off, it is 28% off, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.

Questions about Discount Calculator
Why is 20% + 10% not 30%?
The second discount applies to the reduced price. On 100: 100 → 80 → 72, so the effective discount is 28%.
Is tax applied before or after the discount?
In most jurisdictions tax applies to the discounted price. Add tax after calculating the discount.
Can I find the original price from a sale price?
Yes — divide the sale price by (1 − discount/100). A 72 price at 28% off implies 100.
Does it round to whole currency units?
It shows two decimals; round only at the final step to avoid compounding rounding error.
